longboard and shortboard English champs.

Well what can we say? winning both catagories at the english nationals this year in sizey conditions, Was Adam 'bearman' Griffiths on his longboard, who totally dominated the final to have the chasing pack comboed untill 3 mins to go!! Then Tom Butler finding him self in the top spot after a stacked final to claim his second open english title at only 22!! and hes not even sponsored!!

So stoked with the boys efforts and glad to be able to tell the great british public that ...... the boards work and the proof is in the pudding (trophies)

the winter goose chase!!! 2000 miles in 4 days.......

So its a Tuesday, the chart looks good for up North but we have to be back down South in Bournemouth for Saturday morning. Doable? Hell yes ladies and gentleman. Leave Newquay on Tuesday at 18:30 pm arrive at our most Northerly of Northerly destinations via a boat at 11 am Wednesday morning. Drive straight to the surf spot, get amongst it till the tide stops cooperating, then drive back to the digs for a quick sleep. Yawn! Wake up at 4pm have a good search for waves but the wind is being a twat so we retire for the day (happily) safe in the knowledge that tomorrow will bring us the day of all days!! (according to the chart) Wake up at 5am thursday check the waves on the ski, everywhere is maxed out!!! Nightmare!! What shall we do? I know, lets walk around a cold snowy island all day in search of something to tow!!


Yaaaaay. After 5 hours of walking it becomes apparant that we can either surf a small fat left hander ORRRRR, begin the journey back to the mother land in time to get a fun session at a well known righthand reef. Bearman calls it and we back our shit and get the show on the road. Eight hours later via roads boats and redbull, we get to our destination just as the sun comes out to find a perfect soupy 3-4 foot beauty with no one out!!! What a lovely end to a rushed trip. One hour later it goes onshore. Can't complain though as it pumped for an hour and every surfer knows that there is no better feeling than surfing perfect waves with a great bunch of mates hooting you in to anything that comes through.



So, still frothing to squeeze in one more surf before the sun goes down we drive down and have a little look at a few spots on the way home. We found some super fun waves just before the sun went down............. and 14 hours later we were in bournemouth with a beer in hand. Easy peasy!!! Hart Attack Rider - Stoked!!!

"Hi Luke,

I e-mailed you a few weeks ago asking what size for the hartattck (6'2 6'4) would be good to get for a grom who's coming down from a mini mal. I went with the 6'2 and just tried it out yesterday at my local break Boscombe in 2ft waves. And the board is brilliant it was so fast and lose. Its given me a load of confdence becasue I can duck dive now. So thanks a lot for it.

board barn team rider frothing on his poppa!!!

Its so good! My Poppa that I bought from the Board Barn has been a really versatile and fun short board surf board.

The Poppa has been used contantly for the last 3 months and in those 3 months has been surfed in the Fast barreling reef waves in Indonesia to the slower fatter beaches in the uk. In these contrasting conditions the Quiver Poppa has been one of the best boards I have ever had.

I took the Poppa to Indo to fill a gap between the two boards that I already had; a high performance 6'0 and a barrel chasing 606. From my experience of Indo in the past I knew that the wet season can create some very average days that would not be so fast and criticle. After speaking with Guy at the Board Barn the Quiver Poppa came out as the board for the job.
