PRESS RELEASE: D'Arcy Signs with Quiver 2012

PRESS RELEASE - 17TH JUNE 2012

D’Arcy Signs with Quiver Surfboards for Europe.  World renowned Australian shaper Stuart D’Arcy signed with Quiver®Surfboards this week at the Quiver® head office in Newquay.

Quiver Surfboards has been going from strength to strength, growing rapidly throughout the European market over the past 3 years.  International demand outside Europe after Quiver’s huge shortboard contest success, together with demand for models from renowned French shaper’s Alain Menvielle and Fifi Chevalier, meant Australian Stuart D’Arcy from D’Arcy Surfboards was the perfect choice for advancing Quiver’s success.

“I am absolutely delighted to introduce D’Arcy to the Quiver brand and the growing European market. D’Arcy is a world class shaper renowned for his accurate shaping and up-to-date designs. He brings a whole new level of prestige to the Quiver shortboard range.” said Murray Steward, owner of Seabase and Quiver Surfboards.

We approached D’Arcy earlier this year whilst still based on the Gold Coast as we knew he had already established a great following throughout the European surfing community. We felt his expertise and reputation, combined with our high quality materials, manufacturing processes and strong distribution channels and experience in the European market, would make this a match made in heaven.” Murray said. “The fresh, new and very up-to-date designs from Quiver will be hugely enhanced by D’Arcy’s model range”.

D’Arcy has been shaping for over 25 years and has exported his surfboards worldwide. He has shaped for many elite surfers both past and present such as 7 x World Champion Layne Beachley, free surfers Billy
Kean & Asher Pacey, Martin Potter, Nic von Rupp, Jack Freestone, Mick Fanning and Dean Morrison to name a few.

“I am very excited to be back in Europe and working with Quiver on a D’Arcy range.” said Stuart D’Arcy of D’Arcy Surfboards. “I have used Seabase materials in my factory on the Gold Coast for some years now
and find them far superior to others I have used over time. Quality has always been a huge issue for me and when Murray approached me to come to Europe to work with Quiver I knew this would allow me the opportunity to work with world class materials and manufacturers and feel confident my high reputation for quality that I’ve built up over many decades wouldn’t be tarnished.” said D’Arcy.

Stay tuned for the Quiver/D’Arcy range release coming soon. Custom orders taken now. Demand is heavy.
