The BUCS Surf Championships took place over last weekend 14th-16th October 2011 at Fistral Beach in Newquay and Fistral was literally taken over from Dusk till Dawn with the students hitting the water for the weekends comp. Conditions were pretty good for the Saturday's event with clean 2ft surf and then picked up considerably for the Sunday's heats with the wind swinging more cross-shore.
For the 3rd year in a row, Quiver team rider Gordon Fontaine riding for Bournemouth University won the mens individual competition. Well done Gordy.
We just want to say a congrats to all the students that entered the event. Looks like its getting bigger and better every year.
