Soul Surf Retreat India - Be the 1st to Explore the Unexplored

Soul&Surf    We just had a visit last week from Ed and Sophie who have set themselves up in India, running Soul & Surf in Kerala.

They have set up India's second and Kerala's first surf stay and are dedicated to the positive development of surf and surfing culture on the sub-continent, inclusion and training of locals to become surfers and ultimately surf-instructors and are experiencing exponentially increasing demand for our surf stay, surf guiding and our surf school.

.

If you are looking for a get away surf destination that combines surfing with a rich culture to explore then check out their lodge and get your booking in for this winter.  There are so many undiscovered breaks out there that Ed and Sophie the camp owners are finding on their expeditions each week so you have the chance of scoring a new break that's never been surfed before.  The season runs from October until April so the perfect time to escape the European winter.

Mark's Stickered Summer Stix

Quiver Team rider Mark Harris collected 2 of his 6 board summer order this morning and has timed them well with the first swell of the season to finally hit us.  Has been a bit of a drought down here in Newquay the past few months so we are all pretty amped to get in the water today.  Egor has been working with Phil on his range of boards - click here to read more about our shaper Phil Hodge. Egor is totally stoked on his boards and has just ordered another 2 boards today.

For those curious, here are the dims of Marks boards:

  • 5'11 custom W.O.C - 18 5/8 x 2 1/4
  • 6'1 custom W.O.C - 18 1/2 x 2 1/4

.Mark is safeguarding all the bathers down at Fistral Beach in Newquay this summer and I'm sure you will see him getting in a few cheeky surfs each day, if the bathers are behaving!!!

Quiver + Feestix Collaboration

Quiver and Feestix have just confirmed a collaboration this month and here are a few sneaky peaks of some goodies to come very very soon.  We are all very excited to be hooking up with shaper Felix Dickson from New Zealand and we will be launching the range of models from Feestix in June 2012.

"I'm from Otago Penisula, and grew up surfing the amazing variety of cold waves at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island.  I've surfed competitively over the years representing New Zealand as both a Junior and in the Open Men's division at the ISA World Surfing Games.

I started shaping in 2005 on the Gold Coast  shaping at D'arcy's factory in Currumbin. I moved back to New Zealand at the end of 2005 and worked for my main sponsor Billabong, as Team Manager and events co-ordinator, and started Feestix Surfboards in 2009".

If you are interested in getting one of Fee's models, pop up to the factory and have a chat or give us a call and we can get you on the list of pre-orders as these models are going to sell like hot cakes :)

Hobbit built for a Scot

Here is one very Scottish looking hobbit that has just escaped out the factory yesterday and made its way through the border as far up as Aberdeen.  Scottish graphic designer Allyn Harper has created the graphics for his board and we printed them in-house here with our laminator Nick carefully laying up the designs before cracking on with the glassing.  The modern day neo tartan mixed with original Scottish bank notes.

Here's some of the pics we managed to capture before this little man escaped.....

Quiver Factory Boys Hard @ Work

The boys were taken off production for an hour to get the Hossegor truck loaded up with blanks, resin and boards.  If you are heading to France or wanting to order a new board, give our French office a call as they will be well stocked up and ready to get your order underway for summer.

GB Olympic Swimmer Collects his W.O.C

We had a visit yesterday from Olympic Swimmer Rob Bale as he came down to collect his new Quiver W.O.C with a nice custom spray GB team spray.  Rob came down all the way from Stirling to pay the factory a visit and collect his board but gutted he couldn't make it in the surf with 0ft conditions at Fistral.  Keep your eyes out for him in his swimming events this summer and he's got all the support from the crew here at Quiver and Seabase.

Get Creative - Custom Board Art Graphics

Quiver rider Dee Ripoll got her creative skates on this month and came up with some fantastic designs for her new Quiver of boards.  The lucky Scot has 3 boards for herself and will be no doubt like a kid on Christmas day, trying to decide on which toy to test out first.  Designed by Allyn Harper, a creative designer based up on the East coast of Scotland, the designs were printed in-house and laminated under the glassing.  Check out Allyn's work below:
